Day 31, to Kosh Agach, Russia

Crossed out of Mongolia into Russia today.  It was a lesson in patience, a long slow lesson in patience!  We were up at 04:30, left camp at 05:45 and arrived at the Mongolian side of the border at about 9:45.  Then we waited and waited and waited.  Finally at 14:00 the border was closed for lunch, reopening at 15:00, actually closer to 15:30 and we waited more.  It wasn’t like there was a lot of traffic - it was taking about 10 minutes a vehicle!  Finally we exited Mongolia at 16:45.  Then a 30km drive across no-man’s land to the Russian border check.  The Russian side was a bit slow, taking about an hour, but not bad considering there were some 35 of us, speaking 5 different languages.

We are camped tonight beside a river (bad mosquito’s) near Kosh Agach.  We are in the Gorno Altaysk region of Siberia in Russia.

Not many pictures today, as we were not allowed to take pictures near the border, but a couple:
