Tso Kar to Pang:  52km, 350M up, 489M dwn 4460M end

It was an easy day, only 50km essentially flat or downhill, but at altitude, so everything is hard.

Leaving Camp

Again absolutely gorgeous scenery, we are on the Morei Pleins, a very high open valley.

Yesterday, tonight and tomorrow we will be sleeping at the highest points of the trip, 4,515, 4,520 and 4,200M respectively (14,813ft, 14,829 and 13,780ft.

We have accommodations in the absolute best establishment in Pang.  The Hotel Sonam Dhaba.  Considered 5 star by the locals.  We are 8 to a room with one common ensuite.  I’m fairly sure the Michelin travel writers have never stopped here.

Our stay tonight

Eight of us to this room - and nobody snored!  But the entrance and ensuite doors really squeaked!

The food has been very good, even in very modest establishments.  An excellent meal this evening, a candle light setting, but without the candles.

Might have been a better choice for the night:

I was very impressed with TDA today.  Word was there was a motorcyclist that was badly suffering from altitude sickness, one of the two bad types, high altitude cerebral oedema,  swelling of the brain.  Immediately the TDA Doctor was off to deal with him. After some treatment of steroids and oxygen, he was stabilized.  Arrangements were made with the local military to immediately transport him to lower elevation.

A pic for Kelly
