Day 118 to Zanjan, Iran, 140km, 9,662 to date, 537m up,  1617m end. 

Although a relatively flat day, the wind was generally against, hence made for a harder day. 

Did a 5km detour to visit the Soltaniyeh Citadel (mausoleum of Oijaytu), started in 1302, the earliest example of the double shelled dome in Iran.



A present day building inspector would not be impressed with these stairs! No handrail, uneven step rise, no head clearance...

Unfortunately the down was under repair from the inside, quite impressive the restoration effort.
